3 Huge Features Arrive On Google Pixel Watch With Latest Update

The first smartwatch from Google, the Pixel Watch, is going to receive three fitness and health updates just months after its debut. The aim is to help the product get on level terms with its biggest competition – the Apple Watch.

What Are The Pixel Watch Updates?

The updates for the Pixel Watch include measurements for oxygen saturation in the blood. It uses the Spo2 sensor built into the Pixel Watch. The other new features include notifications for both low as well as high heart rates and an intelligent feature that will automatically let the watch pause specific workouts.

Upon the arrival of the update, there will be a further ability added to your Pixel Watch – it will notify you via an alert should the heart rate goes beyond normal thresholds. It can now also check the oxygen saturation in the blood during nighttime. The launch of the product mentioned the latter feature. However, users had to wait till the update for its activation. Other wearables from Google already have both features, such as the Fitbit Charge 5 and the Fitbit Sense 2.

Additionally, the Pixel Watch will not be able to automatically resume as well as pause biking, running, and walking workouts. In theory, this ability should make tracking such workouts much more accurate, as it makes accounting for breaks more convenient. However, there is yet to be clarity on whether the Pixel watch update will let the device automatically begin a workout while attached to the wrist.

The October-launched Watch is the first smartwatch for consumers by Google itself. It has a heavy reliance on Fitbit’s features for health tracking. However, the sleek design of the Google product makes it stand out from other watches operating on Android.
