Mercedes Benz’s Concept CLA Has A Massive Range- According to Latest Details

In a world where every single company is trying to get the crown of the best compact electric sedan, Mercedes Benz seems to have put its hat in the ring. Just a few days after Tesla put out a refreshed Model 3, which was then followed by the Neue Klasse concept by BMW, Mercedes Benz is all set to come out with its next concept electric sedan, which is the Concept CLA Class EV.

Unlike the Neue Klasse, the CLA Class EV is not really that different from the current models. Rather, it is just a fancy four-door sedan with a massive range of 466 miles, along with new 800-volt architecture that should enable fast charging. To put it simply, the charging is fast enough to get around 248 miles in just 15 minutes. This range figure has been constructed according to the European WLTP Standards- in the United States, the figure could be a little lower- but the standard is still pretty impressive.

The Mercedes Concept CLA Is Quite A Dazzling Beauty- But With A Lot of LED Lights

Externally, the Concept CLA Class looks exactly what one would expect a Mercedes Benz to look like, with a curvy, sleek figure- a massive dotted grille on the front- and the elements of the logo repeated everywhere. Also, it is all underpinned by a whole bunch of LEDs. The company put out a statement recently, stating that this was very low-energy LED lighting, so it might just not drain the battery of the car as fast as it seems. Other details that are pretty notable include light bands that are wrapped nearly around the entire car, 21-inch wheels, with spokes that are star-shaped, and the illuminated logo on the rear of the car.

Inside, the Concept CLA class has a lot more LED lighting, and quite a humongous amount of shiny, illuminated surface. There is a pretty massive mini-LED display that extends throughout the full width of the cockpit- which would offer some form of infotainment both for the passengers, as well as the driver.
