This weekend marks the launch of Indie Charity Weekend—a fantastic initiative founded by renowned app developer Will Bishop! Kicking off today, 100% of the proceeds from 23 participating apps will be donated to the charity of each developer’s choice.
Previously, Will orchestrated fundraising efforts during the early 2020 Australian wildfires, successfully raising over $3000, complete with proof of donation. This time, he’s unified nearly two dozen apps for a weekend of charitable giving featuring an impressive lineup:
As noted, each developer is supporting a different charity, and more information is available on the Indie Charity Weekend website. You can expect proof of donations to be shared a few days after the weekend concludes.
Among the charities being supported are Make A Wish, St. Jude, and the American Cancer Society.
If any of these apps catch your eye and you’d like to support a good cause, consider checking out these apps this weekend! This is a commendable concept, and I hope to see more initiatives like this in our community.
Just a reminder that 100% of proceeds (after Apple’s 15-30% cut) from app purchases during this weekend (November 16-17) will benefit charity.
