FordPass App Receives Update: New Control Center Toggles and Home Screen Widget Introduced

Great news for Ford enthusiasts: we’re finally able to integrate widgets for our vehicles into the Control Center. Ford is launching an updated version of the FordPass app featuring Control Center toggles and a new Home Screen widget.

The FordPass app was showcased by Apple during the iOS 18 announcement at WWDC in June and again at the iPhone 16 event in September.

Regrettably, the “Climate” widget for Control Center that was previewed at WWDC is not part of this update. Instead, the FordPass app now includes two new Control Center widgets for “Lock” and “Unlock.”

The new Home Screen widget displays your car’s current range estimate and charging percentage, even changing to a green background when the vehicle is charging.

It would be fantastic to see Ford enhance the widget options with functionalities for climate control, as well as access to the frunk and trunk. I hope these features will be made available in future updates. After the WWDC in June, Ford CEO Jim Farley indicated that climate settings would be among the widgets to come to Control Center.

Brands like Rivian and Tesla have also introduced iOS 18 Control Center toggle support, providing options for climate, windows, hood, frunk, and more.

The latest version of the FordPass app can be downloaded from the App Store.

Thanks to my buddy Jace for catching the update!
