iOS 18.2 Release Candidate Now Accessible to Developers and Public Beta Testers

Today, Apple has rolled out the iOS 18.2 RC to both developer and public beta testers, approximately two weeks following the release of its fourth beta. This iOS 18.2 RC update is expected to be the last beta version before the official release to the public next week.

The iOS 18.2 RC comes with the build number 22C150 for developer beta testers. Additionally, a public beta version is now accessible. iOS 18.2 is compatible with all iPhones that support iOS 18. However, the new Apple Intelligence features are exclusively available on the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and all models of iPhone 16.

Among the highlights of iOS 18.2 is the introduction of the second wave of Apple Intelligence features:

  • Image Wand in the Notes app enables users to transform rough sketches into beautiful images and to generate images based on the context contained within the note.
  • Image Playground allows you to quickly create intriguing images by simply typing, offering two distinct styles: Animation and Illustration.
  • Genmoji gives you the ability to create personalized emojis using text descriptions.
  • Interacting with Siri in iOS 18.2 now provides the option to access ChatGPT.
  • The Writing Tools feature now includes a “Compose” button to generate text related to your selected topics. It also introduces a “describe your change” option for enhancing your writing experience.
  • Visual intelligence leverages the camera control of the iPhone 16 to help users better understand their surroundings.

Beyond the new Apple Intelligence features, iOS 18.2 brings enhancements to the Camera controls on the iPhone 16, a revamped Mail app, new functionalities in the Find My app, and various other updates.
