Following the introduction of Tap to Pay on iPhone for users in the United Arab Emirates and Chile, Apple has now launched Apple Pay in Egypt. This announcement was made public by Apple after the service was expanded to Uruguay last week.
Apple Pay is now available in Egypt
The announcement about Apple Pay was reflected on Apple’s Egyptian website on Tuesday. The company also informed local media that the payment service is being launched in collaboration with three partner banks: National Bank of Egypt, Banque Misr, and the Commercial International Bank (CIB).
As reported by Egypt Today, additional Egyptian banks are expected to start supporting Apple Pay for their customers in the upcoming weeks.
With Apple Pay, users of iPhone and Apple Watch can make contactless payments in-store. They simply need to add their supported credit and debit cards to the Apple Wallet app. Apple Pay is also compatible with various apps and websites, enabling customers to complete their purchases quickly and easily with a few taps. Furthermore, Apple Pay can be used on the web for Macs and iPads.
Currently, Apple Pay is accessible in over 80 countries globally. In November, Apple had already broadened its payment platform to banks in Paraguay.
