If you’re still wrapping up your holiday shopping, the current discounts on Beats products are impressive. From the all-new Beats Pill to the budget-friendly Beats Solo Buds, Beats offers a robust lineup this year.
Having reviewed all the recently released Beats products, I’m excited to share my top picks. Plus, they’re still available for delivery in time for Christmas.
Beats Studio Pro
The Beats Studio Pro launched last September as the premium option among Beats’ offerings. They include features like active noise cancellation, Transparency mode, lossless audio playback via USB-C, and much more.
In my assessment of the Beats Studio Pro, I mentioned that they “render AirPods Max a hard sell” for many consumers. This belief still stands, especially since AirPods Max received just a minor update in 2025.
As stated in my review:
A comparison of the features of Beats Studio Pro and AirPods Max makes it evident – at least to me – which option is superior. I’d willingly give up automatic device switching for a USB-C port and a $200 discount. In fact, I disable automatic switching across the board as I find it to be more bothersome than beneficial.
However, choosing Beats Studio Pro does come with its own drawbacks. For instance, the build quality is not as premium, and features like automatic device switching or auto play/pause are absent. Yet, Beats Studio Pro addresses many common grievances associated with AirPods Max.
With the current promotional pricing on Beats Studio Pro, they are even more appealing. Plus, they are available for timely delivery for Christmas in select colors:
Beats Solo 4
For those seeking a more portable and budget-friendly headphone option, the Beats Solo 4 is a fantastic pick. They feature an on-ear design as opposed to the over-ear style of the Beats Studio Pro. They offer lossless audio via USB-C, 50 hours of battery life, Find My integration, spatial audio, and much more.
From my review in April:
Are Beats Solo 4 a groundbreaking addition to the headphone market? Certainly not. Will they continue to fly off the shelves? Likely.
The focus with Beats Solo 4 is to refresh a proven product and bring it into today’s market. Beats could have opted to leave Beats Solo 3 without a successor and direct customers towards the pricier Beats Studio Pro instead. Alternatively, they could have launched Beats Solo 4 at a higher price.
In the end, they chose neither route. Beats Solo 4 maintains the same price of $199 as their predecessors. It’s refreshing to see a product improve without a price hike, especially considering the eight-year gap since the last update. After all, significant changes have occurred in both the economy and our world since 2016.
Beats Solo 4 are also on sale and should reach you just in time for Christmas:
Beats Studio Buds+
The Beats Studio Buds+ launched last year and feature active noise cancellation, Transparency mode, excellent integration with both iPhone and Android devices, and more.
In my review of Beats Studio Buds+:
The most significant upgrades to the Beats Studio Buds+ are enhancements to Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency mode. Beats claims that you can expect these buds to deliver up to 1.6 times more effective ANC and double the Transparency performance compared to the first generation.
I’m not an audiophile, but I quickly recognized the improved Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency mode in the Beats Studio Buds+. While the second-generation AirPods Pro still excel in Active Noise Cancellation, they also come with a nearly $100 higher price tag.
What I admire most is Beats’ commitment to providing options that Apple seems reluctant to offer: various form factors, vibrant colors, and stellar compatibility with Android devices. For example, Apple doesn’t have an AirPods variant without a stem, which could be a deal-breaker for some. If that’s your preference, the Beats Studio Buds+ fill that niche perfectly.
My favorite aspect of the Beats Studio Buds+, however, is the stunning transparent color option. If you’re aiming for a gift with a unique flair this holiday season, the transparent Beats Studio Buds+ are an excellent choice.
Additionally, they are on sale on Amazon and should arrive in time for Christmas:
Beats Fit Pro
Currently, Apple has phased out the well-known Powerbeats Pro (a significant update is anticipated for 2025). In the meantime, the Beats Fit Pro offer a superb choice for workout-centric earbuds. They incorporate a wingtip design for added in-ear security, paired with features like ANC, a six-hour battery life, Transparency mode, and more.
From my review of Beats Fit Pro:
During my time with the Beats Fit Pro, I found their fit and design to be remarkably secure and comfortable. The wingtip design may require some adjustment, especially as you find the proper in-ear fit. However, once you achieve that ideal fit, the combination of the wingtip and in-ear design makes the Beats Fit Pro the most secure truly wireless earbuds I’ve encountered. You won’t have to worry about them slipping out during workouts.
Overall, Beats Fit Pro present a compelling choice due to their exceptional sound quality and design, compatibility with both Apple and Android devices, all at a price below $200.
Yes, you guessed correctly: Beats Fit Pro are currently on sale via Amazon and will arrive in time for Christmas:
Beats Solo Buds
The Beats Solo Buds may offer the best value in the entire earbud category. With an impressive 18-hour battery life housed in a remarkably compact design, they deliver solid performance without the extra features found in other Beats products, ensuring good value for your money.
From my review of Beats Solo Buds:
Beats claims that the Solo Buds deliver up to 18 hours of battery life. Initially, I thought this seemed too good to be true; I asked Beats for clarification, and they confirmed it.
To clarify, this 18-hour battery life refers to the Beats Solo Buds themselves; there’s no trickery involved. The included case doesn’t have an integrated battery; instead, you charge the Solo Buds by placing them in the case and connecting the case to a USB-C cable. Beats confirms that a quick 5-minute charge will yield one hour of playback.
In my experience, the Beats Solo Buds nearly achieved that 18-hour figure. During testing, which included a lot of listening to Taylor Swift, Chappell Roan, and Billie Eilish, they consistently provided 16 to 17 hours of usage.
Those numbers are undeniably impressive. You can confidently leave home knowing you won’t need to recharge the Beats Solo Buds anytime soon.
Beats Solo Buds are also discounted and set to arrive in time for Christmas:
Beats Pill
Finally, we have the newly launched Beats Pill. I was ecstatic to learn about the Pill’s return, and the new version has exceeded all my expectations. I use it daily and am continually impressed with its sound quality, battery life, iPhone compatibility, and more.
From my review of the Beats Pill:
I’ve always appreciated the design of the Beats Pill, so I was disappointed when Apple discontinued the Beats Pill+ without introducing a replacement. After spending around a week with it, I confidently assert that the Beats Pill is back and better than ever.
The Beats Pill adeptly revives a beloved product, fulfilling fan expectations. It maintains its recognizable design while integrating substantial improvements, including enhanced sound quality, longer battery life, better connectivity, and USB-C.
What makes these enhancements even more impressive is the pricing. The Beats Pill retails for $149.99, which is $80 less than the initial price of the Beats Pill+ in 2015. That’s a significant reduction, especially considering the product’s nine-year history.
The Beats Pill is available on Amazon and should arrive just in time for Christmas:
