Univershuffle is an innovative music discovery application that randomly shuffles all tracks on Apple Music, without relying on AI or algorithms. It provides a unique way to explore new music, provided you’re ready to sift through plenty of songs.
The app is free to use with certain limitations, but you’ll need to link it to an Apple Music account to listen to complete tracks. It made its debut on the App Store this week.
Key Features
After connecting your Apple Music account, you can shuffle songs at your leisure. You can also exclude specific genres to tailor the listening experience to your preferences. Should you discover songs you enjoy, there are easy access buttons to add them to a playlist or save them to your Apple Music library.
If you encounter songs in a different language, the app has a translation feature that utilizes Apple’s Translate API. Just tap the song title for a quick translation. Additionally, there’s a customizable button that provides a shortcut to your favorite action within the app, whether that’s adding a song to your playlist or saving the entire album to your library.
Univershuffle supports Apple Shortcuts and Siri, and it offers iCloud Sync across all your devices. You can also enjoy interactive home screen widgets.
Pricing
Univershuffle can be effectively used for free, as long as you’re linked to an Apple Music account. If you’re not, you’ll be limited to 30-second previews of songs. However, linking your account allows for ad-free usage for your first 10 songs, after which ads will appear.
If you prefer an ad-free experience, you can opt for Univershuffle Premium, which follows a “tip jar” model. You can unlock it for a one-time fee starting at just $5, with additional tiers available if you’d like to contribute more: $10, $25, or $50.
There are also subscription options available for ongoing support of the developer, beginning at $1.49 per month. You’ll retain premium features even after cancellation, provided you have paid a total of more than $5.
