Apple Launches Beta 3 for tvOS 18.3 and HomePod 18.3

Apple Launches Beta 3 for tvOS 18.3 and HomePod 18.3

Today, Apple unveiled new betas, albeit only for a couple of its platforms. The latest updates for tvOS 18.3 and HomePod 18.3 have been released as developer beta 3, putting these ahead in the beta development cycle compared to the other Apple platforms.

New betas exclusively for two Apple platforms

While new betas from Apple were anticipated this week, the ones rolled out today involve only a select few of the expected updates.

The complete list of Apple updates currently in beta includes:

  • iOS 18.3
  • iPadOS 18.3
  • macOS Sequoia 15.3
  • tvOS 18.3
  • watchOS 11.3
  • visionOS 2.3
  • HomePod 18.3

Typically, Apple introduces new betas for all its platforms simultaneously.

However, it appears that only tvOS 18.3 and HomePod 18.3 are receiving updates today.

This indicates that all other software versions remain on beta 2, while the Home products progress to beta 3.

In summary, we do not expect more than a couple of additional betas before the public release of Apple’s upcoming variety of updates.

Last year, the company only rolled out three betas plus a release candidate for its x.3 cycle. Thus far, the feature-light nature of the 2025 x.3 betas resembles that trend. It has been challenging to uncover new features in most of Apple’s updates this time around.

We will keep you updated on any discoveries made in today’s releases.
