Samsung and Apple are gearing up to unveil their latest ultra-slim smartphones in 2025. However, it appears that Samsung’s Galaxy S25 “Slim” may fall short compared to the anticipated “iPhone 17 Air,” as revealed in a new leak detailing the device’s dimensions.
Rumors have been circulating that Apple is developing a remarkably thin iPhone for 2025, prompting Samsung to rise to the challenge. The expected Galaxy S25 “Slim” is said to debut after the other models in the Galaxy S25 lineup, but specific features have remained sparse until now.
New insights shared by SmartPrix indicate that the Galaxy S25 “Slim” will have dimensions of 159 x 76 x 6.4mm, with the camera bump reaching 8.3mm.
If accurate, this would make the device nearly 2mm slimmer than the Galaxy S25 Ultra and approximately 1mm thinner than the Galaxy S25+, which has been reported to measure 158.4 x 75.7 x 7.3mm.
What about Apple’s device?
While details about the rumored “iPhone 17 Air” remain sparse, the latest report from DMN indicates that it could be as thin as 5.5mm at its slimmest point. It remains uncertain if this implies a tapered design similar to what Apple previously used with the MacBook Air, but regardless, it appears poised to be significantly thinner than Samsung’s offering.
The report also hints at the presence of a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, a display potentially measuring around 6.8 inches, and a possible launch in May 2025.
Samsung is currently accepting reservations for the Galaxy S25 series, offering a $50 credit with pre-orders alongside potential savings exceeding $1,200+. Signing up for reservations is free and doesn’t obligate a purchase, but this is the only opportunity to secure the $50 credit.
