Apple CEO Tim Cook set to attend Trump’s inauguration next week

This month, Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, contributed $1 million to the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump. According to a report from Bloomberg, Cook is expected to attend the inauguration ceremony next week.

Alongside Cook, other tech leaders such as Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg and Amazon’s Jeff Bezos are also confirmed to attend the inauguration. Additionally, Tesla’s Elon Musk will be present, as expected. The president-elect has already conducted private meetings with several executives, including Cook, at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

Numerous major tech firms, including Meta, Amazon, Microsoft, and Google, have made contributions to Trump’s inauguration. It’s notable that Tim Cook’s donation is personal and made directly to Trump’s inauguration fund, while Apple, the company, has not made any donations.

According to Bloomberg, Trump’s inauguration fund has amassed $200 million, significantly exceeding previous fundraising records. As John Gruber highlighted last week, Apple donated $43,200 to Biden’s inauguration fund, whereas Tim Cook did not contribute.

  • Microsoft contributed $500,000.
  • Google contributed $337,500.
  • Amazon contributed $326,509.85.
  • Apple contributed $43,200; Tim Cook made no contribution.
  • Facebook (prior to its name change) and Zuckerberg did not contribute at all.

The inauguration day is scheduled for January 20 in Washington, D.C., commencing at 12 p.m. ET.
