Tim Cook Praises Trump and Highlights ‘Ongoing Innovation and Job Creation’ in the U.S.

Today in Washington, D.C., Apple CEO Tim Cook was present for President Trump’s inauguration and used social media to assure the public of “ongoing innovation and job creation” in the United States.

President Trump mentioned that Apple is set to make a “large investment” in the country now that he is in office.

In his social media announcement today, Cook remarked:

Congratulations to President @realDonaldTrump and Vice President @JDVance on Inauguration Day. We look forward to collaborating with the administration to foster ongoing innovation and employment for our nation’s future growth.

Seated directly behind the podium at the inauguration, Cook was next to Google co-founder Sergey Brin, just three rows behind President Trump and Vice President JD Vance. Other notable tech leaders, including Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, Sundar Pichai, and Jeff Bezos, also attended. Remarkably, Cook had a separate seating arrangement from these four tech giants.

Cook made a personal contribution of $1 million to Trump’s inauguration, similar to donations from Meta, Microsoft, Google, and others. Notably, Apple as a company did not contribute to the inauguration fund.

In addition to his presence at the inauguration, Cook also participated in the customary pre-inauguration service held at St. John’s Church in Washington, D.C. Furthermore, he attended the post-inauguration luncheon, where he shared a table with Donald Trump Jr. and Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito.

During a victory rally in Washington, D.C. on Sunday night, Trump claimed that Cook assured him of Apple’s plans to “make a substantial investment in the United States due to our significant election victory.”

The specifics of this investment remain unclear. In his first term, Trump visited Austin, Texas, with Cook to tour Apple’s Mac Pro manufacturing facility.
