Ted Lasso season 4 is officially underway, though there are still many unanswered questions. One insider suggests a significant shift in focus for the Apple TV+ series is on the horizon.
New Season, New AFC Richmond Team
Sigmund Judge, the host of the Apple TV-centric Magic Rays of Light podcast, shared a notable update on X regarding Ted Lasso:
EXCLUSIVE: Filming for #TedLasso Season 4 in London is now planned for May/June, with a shift in focus at AFC Richmond toward the establishment of its women’s team.
Initially, the new season was thought to begin filming at the start of the year, but it now appears that production will take place around mid-year.
More importantly, the post highlights a significant change in the series’ focus.
For its fourth season, the storyline will reportedly pivot from the original AFC Richmond men’s team to spotlight the development of a women’s team.
While it seems likely that the men’s team will still make appearances throughout the season, the primary narrative arc will presumably focus on the new women’s team.

This new direction for Ted Lasso sounds like an exciting venture, provided we continue to see familiar faces from the men’s team and staff. It will be intriguing to discover whether Jason Sudeikis’ titular character will remain as coach or if his role will be diminished.
