According to Mark Gurman’s reports, Apple is set to introduce its initial product lineup for the year in just a few days. Here’s what to anticipate, along with possible surprises.
iPhone SE 4
The next generation of the iPhone SE is imminent. Since the last update in 2022, the iPhone SE line has been due for a refresh.
The anticipated iPhone SE 4 is set for release next week, featuring a host of impressive enhancements.
Here’s what to expect:
- Edge-to-edge OLED display
- Face ID technology and a notch
- A18 chip
- USB-C charging
- 8GB RAM
- Integration of Apple Intelligence
- 48MP camera
- Apple’s proprietary 5G modem
Many of these features were unveiled in the iPhone 16 earlier this year, making their arrival in Apple’s budget model particularly exciting.
The existing iPhone SE starts at $429; however, the new SE 4 may have a starting price closer to $499. Despite the price hike, it’s poised to be the best iPhone option for many consumers.
Powerbeats Pro 2
According to Gurman, there is one more product from Apple slated for a launch next week: the Powerbeats Pro 2.
Apple and Beats have been hinting at the new PowerBeats Pro 2 for some time, having been spotted recently on Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.
Gurman predicts that these new earbuds could be unveiled “as early as Feb. 11.”
Based on a leak from the iOS 18 beta, the new Powerbeats Pro are expected to sport a sleek, slimmer design and will be available in purple, orange, and light brown colors.
A standout feature will be the addition of a heart-rate sensor, which is also expected to be a part of the AirPods Pro 3 set for later this year.
Potential Wildcards: M4 MacBook Air, M3 iPad Air, and iPad 11
Gurman has made it clear that the new iPhone SE 4 and Powerbeats Pro 2 are on track for launch next week, but he also suggested that more products might be unveiled.
The M4 MacBook Air, for instance, is expected to make its debut around this time. Gurman had previously indicated that it could be one of the first Apple products to launch this year.
Currently, stock levels for existing MacBook Air models appear to be “dwindling” at Apple’s retail locations, signaling that the M4 launch may be right around the corner.
Similarly, Gurman pointed out that stocks of the M2 iPad Air have also been notably low at Apple Stores. This could mean that the anticipated M3 update could be arriving sooner than anticipated.
Additionally, Apple’s base model iPad is due for an 11th generation upgrade soon. There were expectations that the M3 iPad Air and the new A17 Pro iPad would launch simultaneously.
Summary of Apple’s Upcoming Product Launches
All of these potential product introductions, along with the rumor of the imminent release of the first iOS 18.4 beta, may lead to an exciting week for Apple enthusiasts.
We might witness consecutive days of product launches, similar to Apple’s approach back in October with their M4 Mac introductions.
This staggered launch strategy proved to be successful for Apple, so there’s hope for a repeat performance next week.
