Possible 3D Renders Reveal iPhone 17 Pro Camera Design

The upcoming iPhone is anticipated to launch later this year, and speculation is already rife about its features—particularly in relation to its design and camera. Previous leaks have indicated that the iPhone 17 Pro models will adopt a new rear camera layout featuring a distinct bump. Now, 3D renders shared by Jon Prosser present a glimpse of what the final design of the new phones could look like.

Alleged iPhone 17 Pro camera design displayed in video

In a recent Front Page Tech video, Prosser unveiled renders derived from insights provided by his sources. Unlike previous renders, which depicted variations in lens arrangement, Prosser asserts that the alignment of the three lenses on the iPhone’s rear will remain unchanged. The major alteration lies in the form factor, transitioning from a square bump to a broader “camera bar” at the back.

The render illustrates a notably taller bar compared to earlier designs. The three lenses are maintained on the left side, while the LED flash, microphone, and LiDAR sensor have been moved to the right. Earlier visuals had proposed a horizontal alignment for the lenses.

A recent disclosure also hinted at the potential design for the back of the rumored iPhone 17 Air, featuring a wide rear camera bar that spans the entire width of the device.

Furthermore, Prosser clarifies that earlier interpretations of the rumors regarding a “two-tone” back were incorrect. He mentions that the iPhone 17 Pro’s back will likely present a uniform color, with the camera bar exhibiting a significantly darker shade. Sources have indicated that the iPhone 17 Pro will also be lighter than its predecessors.

It is essential to approach these rumors cautiously. While Prosser has accurately relayed information about forthcoming Apple products previously, he has also presented claims of products such as a revamped Mac mini and iPhone 14 that did not materialize as suggested.

Nonetheless, the ongoing speculations imply that Apple is seriously considering alterations to the aesthetic of the iPhone’s rear camera. Whether it will maintain its current styling or adopt a broad bar layout remains uncertain. We may need to be patient until the first cases for the iPhone 17 series are unveiled.
