Leaked Renders Reveal iPhone 17 Pro Design in Silver and Black

A new rendering aims to showcase a possible design for the iPhone 17 Pro, featuring a full-width camera module instead of the current offset square arrangement.

3D artist Asher Dipprey shared these renders in a video that’s exclusively available to his Patreon supporters.

Traditionally, Pro models have featured a square camera module on the left side of the device, with a triangular configuration of lenses. However, reports indicate that the iPhone 17 Pro might move away from this design, opting for a camera bump that nearly spans the entire width of the phone while maintaining a triangular lens layout.

In Dipprey’s depiction, which is also available in Space Black, the camera bump is asymmetrical, displaying a more significant gap on the left than on the right.

The renders are believed to be derived from a purported CAD image that circulated last month. Leaker Majin Bu previously stated that this image was fake—a sentiment echoed by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman—but noted that it did reflect the general design of authentic CAD drawings.

I received an image of an alleged CAD of the iPhone 17 Pro, and after consulting some designers, they assessed it as a fake. Even if it’s not real, it likely represents elements of the CAD models currently under evaluation.

Bu has a track record that is decent, though not infallible, including insights on the new Desert Titanium color for the iPhone 16 Pro.

Reactions to the suggested design have been largely negative, and while Dipprey’s visuals are highly polished, he refers to the design as merely “bearable.”

Dipprey is also the creator of Radiance, a free application that helps users design their own wallpapers.

DMN’s Perspective

This is the clearest depiction to date of what recent reports have described, including the features suggested by CAD images. Nonetheless, a significant amount of speculation is involved in converting design elements into a realistic render.

Personally, while I recognize that a first look at a new design can often be unsettling, I can’t shake the feeling that this looks… well, awful. What are your thoughts? Please share them in the comments.
