Tripsy, the widely-used app designed to assist users in planning and organizing their journeys, has undergone a significant update that introduces several valuable features. The latest version simplifies the process of monitoring expenses in various currencies and enhances the ability to view nearby locations on a map.
What’s New in Tripsy
For those new to it, Tripsy is a trip planning tool that “helps you coordinate your entire journey in one location.” Users can share their travel itineraries with loved ones, receive flight notifications, and curate lists of must-see destinations. The app provides weather updates, flight tracking, and allows users to store essential travel documents.
With the release of version 3.3, the app includes exciting new functionalities like Nearby Places. As indicated by its name, this feature allows users to view their travel location options organized by proximity on a map. Simply tap on a location or use your current GPS to find the nearest points of interest within a specified radius.
Another eagerly awaited addition in this update is the currency conversion tool. While Tripsy had previously supported multiple currencies, it now offers the ability to automatically convert expenses from one currency to another. “Regardless of how many different currencies are involved during a trip, Tripsy will convert them into your chosen currency using real-time exchange rates aligned with your travel dates.”
Furthermore, Tripsy now supports custom categories, enabling users to create personalized categories with distinct titles, colors, and icons to log any activity or place during their trip. These custom categories will also be visible to shared users of the trip.
Tripsy is available for free on the App Store, although certain features necessitate a subscription costing $4.99 per month or $39.99 annually. A lifetime license is also an option. It’s worth mentioning that the app is compatible with iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch.
