Google Pixel phones are rumored to be getting a new option, which will be face-based and for Auto-Rotate. This is said to come with the latest launch of Android 12 Developer, which will be a preview and is soon to be out. In the devices as such today, we can see that the orientation for display can rotate to match up with the device’s orientation. This is even visible in Android phones of the day. It means, when one watches videos on YouTube, one can watch them in portrait mode. But then, they can also simply turn their phone around to have a full-screen appearance.
But this rotating feature has had a mismatch between the mobile and its user for a while now. And this quirk has not gone unseen. It means the phone may not act the way the human does or wants it to. We all have used our phones in bed. When we lie down on our side, with the phone straight to match our vision, the turned device already rotates the screen. And it is not as convenient as it sounds.
Google Pixel’s New Rotating Feature
Google Pixel’s new feature may differ from our current landscape mode feature embedded in the Auto-Rotate. When our phones go into landscape mode, even when not wanted, it forces us to change our position in order to watch what we want to watch how we want to watch. With current devices before Google Pixel, phones have gained a button to tap when they want to rotate the screen from one mode to the other. Some simply turn off the Auto-Rotate feature and use it again when they need it.
Google Pixel’s Android 12 is set to an option of having an Auto-Rotate based on the recognition of the position of the face. It means the front-facing lens of the camera will check which way the looker’s face is turned and accordingly adjust the display for view.
The launch of Google Pixel is around the corner.
