23rd March will see OnePlus reveal their newest series, called OnePlus 9. This will be the first series from the manufactures featuring their partnership with Hasselblad, the premier camera company. Their first smartwatch is also expected to be revealed at the event.
Three models are set to be released. They are the normal vanilla, a higher specification model Pro, and a premium R version. The partnership with Hasselblad involved a $150M funding for improved camera systems for phones. As such, the phones will process the images with Hasselblad technology, capable of producing RAW images of 12-bit.
Specifications Of The OnePlus 9
The camera itself for the models will be a Sony 48 MP one. It will feature a host of innovative features and can record 4k videos with 120 frames per second. It will also have a 50 MP ultra-wide lens. Furthermore, the cameras will possibly have a microscope camera rather than a zoom feature.
The phones are set to be one of the earliest adopters of LTPO panel technology. The featured AMOLED display can adjust the refresh rate dynamically up to 120 Hz. The Pro will have a curved screen with a 1440p+ panel and color support of 10-bit. It can further save energy by adjusting the refresh rate to 1 Hz. The vanilla model however will likely be a 1080p+ panel and a non-adaptive refresh rate of 120 Hz.
Both the phones are to be powered by a 4500 mAh battery. The event will also include the launch of a wireless charger with the ability to allegedly charge the batteries in 29 minutes. The wired charger will be included in the packaging.
The Snapdragon 888 will be powering the OnePlus 9 series. They will also feature an LPDDR5 RAM. The Pro will also have an additional cooling technology. The OnePlus currently has a violet, a black, and a blue color scheme. The Pro has been shown in silver, pine green, and black outfits. The product will come with 2 years of warranty.
The OnePlus 9R will be a gaming-oriented device with 5G capabilities. There is also an OnePlus watch coming in the event. This will be the first smartwatch from the series and is expected to have features such as oxygen sensors and 4 GB of storage.
