Samsung had recently put out a trial for its Galaxy Z Flip 5G. The company currently leads the industry as far as foldables go. For example, with Fold 2, the reviews have been quite positive. Reviewers expected more of the same from the other option as well but they have been left disappointed.
Where The Galaxy Z Flip 5G Succeeds And Fails
Foldables are also expected to revolutionize the smartphone industry one day. Samsung’s offering is reportedly good for the one thing it offers: being a phone that can be folded. The phone has the sole purpose of being a smartphone whose size can be decreased at will, to have an easier time fitting into pockets.
The idea behind the Galaxy Z Flip 5G is valid. Currently, smartphones are getting bigger and bigger which results in them not being nearly as handy as before. However, this phone in particular does not offer anything more than that ability.
Specifications wise it is identical to Samsung’s Galaxy S20. It has the Snapdragon 865 chipset and 8GB RAM. Like the S20, the performance of the device is reliable and satisfactory.
However, the 3300 mAh battery did not last long. Reviews have estimated that it lasts an average of 4 to 5 hours if used actively in a day. Moreover, there were hardware compatibility issues when it came to charging wirelessly. The size of the phone made it difficult to line up with any charging pad. The 12 MP camera gave the performance that is expected from a Samsung.
The glass with the matte finish of Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 5G was a positive point in the reviews. However, the fact that there is only one display which is on the inside made the phone less snappy in the hands. As such, with a price tag of 1200 USD, the model has received relatively negative reviews during the trial phase.
