The company of drone delivery, Alphabet, intends to track drones using a different approach. During the last week, the government of the United States of America made their single largest and most effective group of changes for the drone law that has happened.
They have ruled out almost all the drones present in American airspace. They have broadcasted all their locations along with the location of their pilots. This is due to the reason that they can resolve the safety, law enforcement, and national security concerns based on the additional integration of the aircraft with the airspace of America.
Drone Law Compromises The Privacy And Security
Google, or better known as Alphabet, is not very thrilled about the application of these novel rules. The drone delivery company which is a subsidiary of Wing has written a rather post that is fearmongering. It is titled under ‘Broadcast-Only Remote Identification of Drones May Have Unintended Consequences for American Consumers’.
This argues that the drone law of FAA of broadcasting the location of drones may let the observers track the movement of the drones and compromise privacy and security. This is because knowing the place and movement is risky for the drones and the companies.
FAA originally planned a tracking system based on the Internet in December 2019 when they actually proposed the drone law for the first time. However, the cost of extracellular modem, data plan, data brokerage of 3rd part, probability of DDoS of network or data broker along with the absence of dependable cellular coverage in the entire country stopped that law from being passed.
The broadcasts of Remote ID are going to be either secure or risky which can be found out in time. For now, it will be important to find out the initial steps of the drone law.
