Vivo’s first foldable smartphone is here. The Vivo X Fold, which is owned by BBK, is the company’s first foldable smartphone. It has a design that is comparable to the Samsung Z Fold line of smartphones and the recently released Oppo Find X.
The Vivo X Fold is an inward folding smartphone with a smaller 6.53-inch AMOLED display on the front and a larger 8.03-inch foldable display when the clamshell is opened. The display, on the other hand, is larger than the Galaxy Z Fold’s, and the outside display’s proportions are likewise more typical of a standard smartphone. Both panels are AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10 compatibility. The foldable display is powered by an LTPO2 panel, which allows it to refresh at a rate of 120 times per second to save energy.
Vivo X Fold Boasts 300,000 Folds
It employs the same Schott Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG) like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series phones when it comes to folding display technology. Vivo claims 300,000 folds for the hinge, according to reports. The X Fold is the first smartphone featuring a twin 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, according to the manufacturer. Nothing shocking about the smartphone’s other features; it has flagship-level specs. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU is combined with 12GB RAM in the Vivo X Fold.
The foldable is powered by a 4600mAh battery, which isn’t very large given the screen size. It is, nevertheless, large enough by foldable phone standards. The phone also has 66W wired quick charging and 50W inductive charging capabilities. It also enables 10W wireless charging in reverse.
In the X Fold, Vivo has also chosen flagship-level camera specifications. A 50MP f/1.8 main sensor with OIS, a 12MP f/2.4 2x telephoto lens, an 8MP 5x periscope zoom lens with up to 60x digital zoom, and a 48MP ultra-wide sensor are all included in the smartphone.
The X Fold, like the previous Vivo flagship phones, has Zeiss optics and branding surrounding the camera housing. A punch hole on both the inner and outside display housing 16MP sensors.
