For numerous years, Google Photos offered free unlimited photo storage, especially when you purchased a Pixel phone. As storage needs grew, Google altered its intentions, and limitless picture storage was phased out entirely in 2021. It’s now available again, but just on T Mobile.
Even with the lowered high-quality option, none of Google’s new products currently come with unlimited free Photos storage. You can’t even get a Google One plan with limitless data.
Last year, though, Google and T Mobile began collaborating on messaging, cloud storage, and a few other bundles, and the collaboration seemed to have gone well. That’s because, as 9to5Google reported today, limitless Google Photos storage is “coming shortly” to T Mobile customers at a reasonable price.
T Mobile Has Three Tier Plans
T Mobile customers will soon be able to purchase a Google One 2TB plan that includes unlimited Google Photos storage at full resolution, not reduced resolution, for only $15 per month. There is currently no Google One plan that includes this.
The 2TB Google One storage option is now $9.99 for any client, but it comes at a lower quality, and you’ll have to share the 2TB across all Google Drives, documents, Gmail, pictures, videos, and more. T Mobile’s package includes 2TB of data, as well as unlimited Google Photos cloud storage. Reading the small print, it appears that this new T Mobile Google One unlimited plan includes all of the normal Google One goodies, such as backup and restoration, Google’s VPN, Photos editing capabilities, and so on. However, the limitless full-resolution photo and video storage are only available to the primary account user, while the 2TB of storage may be shared with up to five other persons.
As of right present, Google has no such plan in place. However, most individuals should be OK with 1-2TB, but power users will love being able to utilize the entire 2TB for Gmail and Drive while still having unlimited photo and video backups.
