Since an EVO would not be complete without some character introductions, Capcom used this evening’s event to reveal the next two fighters appearing in Street Fighter 6: Juri, who is making a comeback, and Kimberly, who is making her series debut.
Both are demonstrated in the clip down below. While Kimberly is referred to by Capcom as a “spunky new ninja,” she has special skills involving spray cans and a Walkman. Juri makes her entry with one of the smoothest Akira slides I have seen in a while. Kimberly, the first playable African-American woman in the history of the Street Fighter series, has obviously appeared before. She was alluded to in the trailer for the game’s release, and the art leak from a few months ago revealed both her and Juri’s complete designs.
Street Fighter 6 Introduces Kimberly
A lot of these announcements for the game will probably be a little spoiled by that leak. However, I suppose it has also piqued our interest in some of the more interesting ones, such as China’s A.K.I. and Italy’s magnificent new gladiator.
Next year, Street Fighter 6 should be released. Bad news for scrub lords everywhere: Street Fighter 6 adds the humiliation of seeing your opponent’s unique win animations when you lose without hurting them. Shake up your spray cans and crank up the music to welcome Street Fighter 6’s newest ninja. After Guy, the 38th Successor to Bushinryu, defeated his teacher Zeku, the 39th Successor, Kimberly graciously accepted Guy’s invitation to study under him. Kimberly is a genius who graduated from college early and now aspires to become a fully-fledged ninja despite having a typical background. She always has a portable cassette player with her because she is obsessed with pop culture from the 1980s when it was most popular.
