It turns out there will be six new Assassin’s Creed titles, not the five that Ubisoft was supposed to unveil.
Even though there was not a preview presentation in June, Ubisoft held an event on Saturday night that was akin to E3 and included several games, with Assassin’s Creed taking center stage.
Surprisingly (or not), there was very little information on anything other than the smaller game Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which is a “tribute” to the 2007 original game and is set in 9th-century Baghdad.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage Is One Of The 6 New Games
Even though Assassin’s Creed Mirage was originally intended as an expansion for Valhalla, Ubisoft Bordeaux, the studio behind DLC Wrath Of The Druids, will be creating the game, which will not include the role-playing components of the more recent games. You will take on the role of Basim Ibn Ishaq from Valhalla, the forerunners of the Assassin Brotherhood for the remainder of the game, and you won’t have the option to change your gender.
Sometime in 2023, Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be released for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Luna. A total of six new Assassin’s Creed titles were revealed by Ubisoft, making a total of seven if you consider the live service Assassin’s Creed Infinity, which will act as the series’ entry center moving forward. This was exactly what was expected.
The initial release of Assassin’s Creed Infinity, which will be the series’ next significant installment following Valhalla, does not yet have a name but is known by the codename RED (since it has previously been leaked).
It is being created by Ubisoft Quebec, the studio behind Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and takes place in feudal Japan. Only a pre-rendered 10-second teaser and the suggestion that it would likely be released after 2024 served as the only information provided.
