Another Overwatch 2 hero has been disabled by Blizzard owing to flaws in their powers. Mei is currently being temporarily removed from play to address a fault with her Ice Wall ability, just a few weeks after we lost Bastion and Torbjorn due to flaws that rendered them insanely (but amusingly) powerful.
According to a tweet from Blizzard yesterday, “We are momentarily disabling Mei to discuss a bug with her Ice Wall skill that allows protagonists to reach unintended locations.” “We are attempting to fix these issues as soon as possible and aim to resolve Mei back in the next upcoming patch,” the company added.
Overwatch 2 Mei Has A Skill Bug
Mei mains will have to choose another character to play for the upcoming two weeks, which is bad news for them.
Blizzard is working to fix a flaw that enabled players to utilize Mei’s Ice Wall to cross the limits of the maps in Overwatch 2 without permission. A video clip on Reddit that was first discovered by Polygon shows the issue in action as a Mei player can go below the level geometry and shoot at players above them. Mei-Ling Zhou, planeswalker is a fantastic fresh take on the character, in my opinion, but it appears that Blizzard feels differently.
Another hiccup in Overwatch 2’s already rocky debut is the Ice Wall problem. Nevertheless, despite its limitations, Overwatch 2 is a game we generally enjoy. We gave it a score of 74%, observing that the first game’s foundation is “too sturdy and too distinct to be fully wiped,” but that the move to a live service model might, if left unchecked, hollow out the greatest aspects of the Overwatch experience.
