Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei said he is in business again.
The Chinese smartphone maker, which lost access to Google’s Android operating system last year, has started making phones with a new operating system called HarmonyOS.
Huawei is back in business, says the founder.
Huawei Clawing Back In Competition
Huawei has been banned from selling phones in the US, but it’s still a force to be reckoned with. The Chinese smartphone maker has been a sensation since its inception and has become one of the world’s biggest manufacturers of Android smartphones. Now, Huawei’s founder Ren Zhengfei believes that the company is “back in business” and ready for global expansion once again.
According to Ren, Huawei’s ban from selling devices on US soil was not as big of an issue as people thought it would be — but there are still challenges ahead for the company as well. For example, he believes that his company will need some time before it can catch up with market leaders like Apple or Samsung.
It’s no secret that Samsung has been struggling. But, recent reports suggest that the company is actually worried about Huawei’s recovery. The Chinese tech giant is back in business and has some good products to offer.
While Huawei isn’t as big as Samsung or Apple yet, it’s steadily growing its market share in emerging markets. In fact, Huawei has even surpassed Apple in India where it commands a 29% share of smartphone sales compared to Apple’s 25%.
As we’ve seen, Huawei has been making a big comeback in recent months. The company has already surpassed Apple as the world’s number two smartphone manufacturer and is now working on its own foldable phone.
