A big boost in performance is expected from the upgrade. The latest announcement from Alienware is an update for its flagship series for gaming, the Alienware M15 R5. The updated version is expected to roll out in the United States from 20th April with a price tag of $1793.38 for the starter.

Overview Of The New Alienware M15 R5

Alienware is aiming big by making the bold claim that it will provide the devices for the H-Series Ryzen 5000 from AMD. The highest it will support is the 5900HX Ryzen 9 from AMD and the RTX 3070 from Nvidia. The Alienware M15 R5’s parent company, Dell claimed that this will be the first model from Alienware to be powered by AMD after 2007.

AMD processors had received magnificent ratings in the previous year, and have delivered stunning performance without any compromise in efficiency in activities other than gaming. Dell, Lenovo, and Asus have all been touting AMD processors recently.

The starter Alienware M15 R5 comes with the 5800H Ryzen 7 octa-core processor along with the Nvidia RTX 3060. Both of the chipsets can be upgraded. By default, this configuration has a combined 115W power level for graphics. An extra 10W of boost is available. An interesting note is that a higher boost and base clock is recorded by 3060.

Be that as it may, these numbers are among the best in the category for 2021 for gaming laptops especially. As far as appearances go, the Alienware M15 R5 has a heavier and thicker appearance than its predecessor generation R4.

The Alienware R5 can support a big range when it comes to displays with high refresh rates. The default FHD screen comes with a refresh rate of 165Hz and a response time of 3ms. Dell also claims that this will be the first model from Alienware to feature a DDR4 3200Mhz RAM which can also be configured by the user.
