Apple Appoints Vanessa Trigub as Vice President of Retail Stores

Apple appears to be reshaping its leadership team once again, this time appointing a global Vice President responsible for overseeing the company’s retail stores worldwide.

Apple appoints a new VP for retail stores

While official confirmation is still pending, Bloomberg reported on Wednesday that Vanessa Trigub has been “promoted” to the position of vice president of stores and retail operations. Previously, Trigub managed retail locations in the Americas West region. Now, her role will expand to include oversight of retail executives in Europe, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, and the Americas East region, according to the report.

As Trigub steps into her new role with increased responsibilities, Apple aims to streamline its retail organization. Currently, Deirdre O’Brien oversees all retail operations, but following the departure of Carol Surface, the company’s former Chief People Officer, O’Brien has also taken on the HR responsibilities.

Trigub joined Apple in 2007, shortly after the inaugural iPhone launch, and has held various roles in the areas of finance, mergers, and acquisitions. The report indicates that O’Brien will have “fewer direct reports” due to this transition, as she will now focus on managing Trigub, who will handle the retail store operations.

Sources close to the situation suggest that Apple views Trigub as a potential successor to O’Brien once she chooses to retire, given that O’Brien has been with the company for over thirty years. This news follows the recent shift in leadership, with Apple replacing Siri chief John Giannandrea with Mike Rockwell, currently the VP of Vision Pro.
