Apple Introduces Another Console-Quality Game to Apple Arcade

Apple Introduces Another Console-Quality Game to Apple Arcade

On February 6th, Apple will introduce PGA TOUR Pro Golf to Apple Arcade. Growing up immersed in console gaming, I can’t contain my excitement for this new release. This adds yet another console-quality game to Apple Arcade’s expanding library. Here’s what you can anticipate.

Reflecting on my childhood, some of my favorite moments were spent at my friends’ homes, measuring the prowess of our custom golfers—everything from golf club stats to personal accessories. And now, all that nostalgia is set to return, along with additional features.

What to Expect

Real-World Courses

A PGA Tour game wouldn’t be complete without iconic courses. Players will have the opportunity to experience:

  • Pebble Beach Golf Links
  • The Links at Spanish Bay
  • Spyglass Hill Golf Course
  • Firestone Country Club
  • Bay Hill Club and Lodge
  • Harbour Town Golf Links
  • Latrobe Country Club

A significant advantage of this being an Apple Arcade title is the promise of ongoing updates, which means more courses will likely become available in the upcoming weeks and months.

Head-to-Head Mode

This feature will boost the game’s social dynamics by allowing players to compete head-to-head in real-time with friends and other PGA Tour Pro players, eliminating the need to wait for turns. It will create a more engaging and fast-paced experience, letting you finish matches much quicker.

Tournament Mode

Players will have the option to enter daily and multi-day tournaments. Participants can compete against others on the leaderboards and earn rewards that contribute to golfer upgrades. Progressing through these tournaments and other game aspects will yield coins and cash, enabling the unlocking of additional modes and superior equipment for enhanced gameplay.

Additional Features

  • Supports game controllers
  • Compatible with iOS, iPadOS, MacOS, and tvOS
  • Approximately 2.6GB download size

Final Thoughts

As I mentioned earlier, I’m incredibly eager to try this game out. The best part is that it’s included in Apple Arcade, meaning there are no additional costs or microtransactions involved. I can play as long as I want! If you haven’t yet subscribed to Apple Arcade and are interested in this game, a one-month free trial is available.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this. Have you ever played a PGA TOUR game? Are you looking forward to this release? Let’s chat in the comments below.
