Today, we received a glimpse of the stunning new Apple Miami Worldcenter store, which is set to open on Friday morning.
The tech giant has emphasized the store’s “biophilic” design, its eco-friendly attributes, accessibility features, and its rich multicultural Latin American influences …
Apple Miami Worldcenter Store
We were first informed about the initiative back in 2023.
A recent Bloomberg report indicated that Apple plans to open more stores in the Asia-Pacific region, Europe, the Middle East, the United States, and Canada in the next four years, including in Miami Worldcenter.
At that time, the expected opening was set for August 2024.
This month marked the official announcement, featuring the tagline “naturally inspiring” along with nature-themed decor.
Our brand-new store in downtown Miami is opening soon. Get ready to explore an oasis in the heart of the city, where nature flourishes and creativity blossoms. We can’t wait to see what inspires you.
Biophilic Design & Environmental Credentials
Apple has released several images and a video clip showcasing the “biophilic” design — a concept referring to the close association with nature. This represents architectural elements that incorporate natural features like plants, wood, and water, alongside designs that echo nature itself.
The Apple Miami Worldcenter embraces a biophilic design that connects visitors to the lush green spaces enveloping the store. Upon entry, customers and the local community are greeted by tropical plants and flora inspired by Miami’s multicultural Latin American heritage …
This store was crafted from the ground up to embody Apple’s values, utilizing a regionally-sourced mass timber structure and other low-carbon materials, effectively diminishing the carbon footprint of its construction. Similar to all Apple facilities, the operations of Apple Miami Worldcenter rely solely on 100 percent renewable energy and maintain carbon neutrality.
Accessibility at the Core of the Design
Apple has also stated that accessibility played a pivotal role in shaping some of the design features.
In line with Apple’s commitment to accessibility, the new store is built around universal design principles, offering various table and seating heights for product exploration and support, alongside pathways that provide wheelchair users ample space to navigate. For customers using hearing aids, the store features a portable hearing loop for use throughout the space. Additionally, a dedicated assistive listening loop at the Today at Apple table allows users to engage more fully with the session, enhancing overall customer experience.
The store will introduce the first designated Apple Pickup area in Miami, enabling customers to place orders online and pick them up in-store, an ideal option for those unable to ensure they are home upon delivery of valuable products.
Grand Opening on Friday
Apple has announced that the store will have a team of over 150 employees, and it opens its doors at 10 am on Friday, January 24.
