Apple has unveiled a fresh campaign to promote the AirPods 4, featuring a short film with Pedro Pascal. Additionally, the company released a behind-the-scenes video showcasing director Spike Jonze, who previously directed the film “Someday.”
Behind-the-Scenes Video of AirPods 4 Short Film
The short film creatively highlights the Active Noise Cancellation feature of AirPods 4. In the behind-the-scenes footage, Pascal and Jonze explain that the narrative centers around a breakup and how music, paired with the ANC feature, can significantly alter one’s surroundings.
“It’s illustrating this idea that when you put on your AirPods and activate the Active Noise Cancellation, your entire world shifts according to the music that resonates with your current mood,” remarked producer Jorie Feldman.
Costume designer Kym Barret, who contributed to the project, elaborates on their use of two-tone costumes that adapt to changing scenery. “A fascinating aspect of the show is that you see characters in full winter or summer attire in specific colors, and then an illusion occurs as the scene unfolds,” she said.
This collaboration with Spike Jonze isn’t their first; in 2018, he directed the short film promoting the HomePod, featuring dancer FKA Twigs. This advertisement, titled “Welcome Home,” won the Advertising Excellence/Single Commercial award at the AICP Awards.
