After the launch of Apple TV+ on Amazon Prime Video in the U.S. last month, the service is now expanding to new regions.
Apple TV+ is now accessible for subscription and viewing within Prime Video in the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada, with pricing identical to that of a direct subscription through Apple.
By introducing TV+ on Prime Video, Apple aims to increase viewership for its original content among customers who do not typically utilize the Apple TV app.
Subscribing to Apple TV+ through Prime Video allows users to add original shows and movies to their Prime Video queue and watch them directly on the Prime Video app across all devices. A free seven-day trial is available for new subscribers.
The financial arrangements between Apple and Amazon have not been disclosed, but it is likely that Amazon takes a percentage of each subscription.
In comments to Deadline, Apple SVP Eddy Cue expressed that U.S. customers have appreciated the new option:
“Viewers in the U.S. have been loving the ability to subscribe to Apple TV+ on Prime Video and we’re pleased to now launch this offering in Australia, Canada and the U.K.” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s SVP of Services.
Apple TV+ now features over 250 original titles, with the new streaming film “Fly Me to the Moon” set to premiere tomorrow. Check out our exclusive guide for a comprehensive overview of everything available on Apple TV+.
