Artist Transforms Apple’s Running Shoe Emoji into a Real-Life Product

With the advent of Apple Intelligence and Genmoji, users are now empowered to craft their own emojis. Nevertheless, the iconic emojis remain popular and are likely to stay relevant. Their popularity has inspired an artist to bring Apple’s running shoe emoji to life as a tangible product.

You can now purchase shoes resembling an emoji designed by Apple

As highlighted by The Verge, artist and designer Jose Wong has launched real running shoes modeled after the well-known Apple-designed emoji, loved by many iPhone, iPad, and Mac enthusiasts. The sneaker, named “The Shoe 1,” will be available in sizes 5 through 12 and is priced at $219.90 per pair.

If “The Shoe 1” or Apple’s running shoe emoji seems recognizable, it’s because the emoji draws inspiration from the iconic New Balance 574, frequently worn by Apple co-founder Steve Jobs. The emoji cleverly replaces the New Balance logo with two parallel lines.

Wong blended elements from both the New Balance 574 and Apple products in crafting The Shoe 1. The shoe’s packaging is minimalist, featuring an envelope that states, “Designed by Josewong in China.” In contrast, the insoles showcase a design resembling internal parts of an iPhone.

The shoes are constructed with a full-grain nubuck leather upper combined with mesh for breathability, while the midsole and heel consist of lightweight EVA foam, complemented by a polyurethane rim for comfort and “all-day support.”

Those interested in purchasing The Shoe 1 can place their orders now. Wong has indicated that the shoes will begin shipping next week, and all sales will be “final” with no refunds available. Availability may be limited. For more information, you can check here.
