AT&T to Compensate Customers for Network Outages

AT&T is welcoming 2025 with the launch of its new “AT&T Guarantee” initiative, which the company claims will “raise the standard” for customer and network service. The key highlight of this announcement? AT&T will provide credits for network outages…

AT&T outlines two customer categories that qualify for these credits:

  • Fiber customers who face an outage lasting 20 minutes or longer.
  • Wireless customers who encounter an outage of 60 minutes or more (provided that the outage stems from a single incident affecting 10 or more towers).

In these cases, AT&T states that eligible customers will automatically receive a bill credit equivalent to a full day of service.

In the event of a network disruption, we will work hard to restore service and compensate fiber customers who experience 20 minutes or more, and wireless customers facing 60 minutes or more of a covered outage. Consumers will automatically receive a bill credit equating to a full day of service, and we will contact our small business customers with options to address the issue.

Additional features of the new AT&T Guarantee program include:

  • Clearer terms for promotions related to wireless and fiber service.
  • Enhanced customer support: Connect with a tech expert in under 5 minutes or arrange for a callback at your convenience.
