Despite an early leak via an Amazon listing, Beats is officially making the public launch of its newest authentic wireless earbuds, Beats Studio Buds Plus. That early design leak was largely exact: the Beats Studio Buds Plus features a well-known exterior with a ton of interior upgrades. These improvements include battery life, call quality and noise cancellation. In addition, a new opaque design option lets you see all of those inside parts. The new version isn’t nearly as good as the original. Beats Studio Buds Plus cost $170, which is a little more than the original.
Beats Studio Buds Plus Has New Internal Components
It’s reassuring to see that Beats has largely maintained its exterior appearance. Even while the carry case continues to lack wireless charging—looking around the back, you won’t find a Qi charger coil—the Studio Buds Plus continue to be incredibly comfy. They still have the clicky tactile controls on each earbud and are highly stealthy, and light. However, I believe the motions for the latest AirPods Pro are more flexible because you can change the volume by moving your finger up and down on the sensor’s surface. You’ll have to forgo easy ways to switch between ANC and Siri if you intend to use their long-press touch on the Beats for volume.
The Studio Buds Plus resembles its predecessors quite a bit, but Beats is eager to highlight the fact that 95% of the internal parts are brand-new. The mics are three times bigger and more sensitive than before, which improves voice call quality, transparency mode, and noise cancellation. The earbud batteries increased by 16%, and the battery in the box by 50%. Better air release, reduced ear pressure, and increased transducer mobility are all benefits of the ventilation system’s redesign.
