Apple TV+ has just concluded Silo’s second season, but it has already been renewed for a third and fourth season. The show’s creator has shared an exciting visual shift to anticipate in the upcoming episodes.
Showrunner on Silo season 3: ‘there will be sunshine’
Many contemporary TV series can be overly dimly lit.
This is reminiscent of the “Game of Thrones dilemma,” where some of the most lavishly produced and anticipated episodes were often too dark for viewers to fully grasp what was occurring on-screen—regardless of the substantial investment.
Similar to this, Silo’s first two seasons have featured quite a bit of darkness, especially the second season.
However, Graham Yost, the creator and showrunner of Silo, recently indicated in an interview that significant changes are on the horizon for season 3.
**minor spoilers ahead**
When asked whether the season 2 finale cliffhanger hinted at a change in setting for the next season, Yost confirmed that it indeed does.
Matt Webb Mitovich from TVLine reported Yost’s remarks:
“So yes, we will be outdoors, and we will be in the world, and there will be sunshine,” Yost commented, highlighting the brighter segments of Season 3.
However, he added, “We do go back to Silo 17” in Season 3, noting that “they’ve got a very big power issue there, so they don’t have a lot of light.”
There is still hope for a brighter season 3.
The impending season is set to alternate between the second book in the Silo trilogy—continuing from where season 2 left off—and the third book, intertwining the narratives much like the previous season did with separate silos.
This means that a considerable part of the show should be far brighter and easier to see than ever before, though some darker scenes at Silo 17 are still expected.
