Parler CEO, John Matze joins in the “Sunday Morning Futures” show on January 10 to talk about how the company was affected following the suspensions issued by Big Tech.
Matze, the CEO of this conservative-friendly messaging and social media app mentioned that all of its vendors have left the company post bans from Google, Apple, and Amazon. The statement elaborates that starting from the company’s text message services vendors to the lawyers and email providers, everyone has cut ties with Parler. In the interview, it was noted that such a move on the part of Big Tech could potentially destroy any future of this company. The exodus of the vendors is nothing but an addition to the ruin.
Parler To Be Offline For A Week Post The Big Tech Ban
Google was the first company to take a step against Parler. Google removed the app from its Play Store on Friday stating that the company was indirectly promoting violence and threats following the Capitol Hill assault by not removing violent-propagating posts from the site.
Only a day after, Apple announced a similar news. Apple had issued a warning notice to the company demanding the immediate removal of the violent posts that violate the policies of the company. The app was then removed from the popular App Store when Parler failed to take adequate measures.
Parler supposedly took some actions following the warning notification issued by Apple. However, the companies deemed it fit to ban the app because the measures were not adequate.
Screenshots of messages from the social media app were seen to be shared and circulated by Sleeping Giants, an activist group calling for further violence on the 19th of January on Mike Pence. The company’s inaction or failure to reach moderation regarding the propagation of such posts results in its ban.
Parler CEO mentions that the app will be off the internet for a couple of weeks for the purpose of restructuring and redevelopment post the devastating suspension.
