Facebook Smartwatch is allegedly under creation and may see the light of day just the next year! This is confirmed from resources. The device will be android-based, as per sources. But none of the information ensures whether the social networking giant will let the device run Wear OS by Google. The reports also claimed that the largest social network was looking to make its own operating system for the hardware devices it will create. Hence, the iterations in the future of the device will then run on that software.
The Facebook Smartwatch will supposedly have features of health and fitness, messaging, or even other features for fitness. It will also become an integral corner of Facebook’s other endeavors like the Oculus Headsets for virtual reality or the chat devices, Portal Video. The company is also under the creation of brand new smart glasses in collaboration with RayBan. It is speculated to be released this year. A Project Aria, a research initiative that will be augmented, will also join the crew. The firm has been working on the last project for a while now.
Facebook Smartwatch & Other Hardware
The ambitions of Facebook with the Facebook Smartwatch and other hardware it has released and is to be released are pretty known to the public. Over 6000 employees work in the hardware, especially the Virtual reality section of the company, Portal or Oculus. This also includes the firm Facebook Reality Labs, where several experimental initiatives take place.
Facebook Smartwatch may work in fitness, but the company does not have a track record as such. The firm has also acquired CTRL-Labs, a firm that works in mechanisms of wireless input that helps process electrical signals to the computing devices from the human brain. This has been achieved without any contact of touch-screen or buttons.
