The latest app for the dating scene is named Feels and it comes with a unique take. The app’s interface is more akin to stories found in Snapchat or the feed on TikTok than the usual view-and-swipe system that is there usually.
The Fresh Feel Of Feels
Feels currently reportedly has about 100000 users. For now, Feels’ focus is mainly on the community in France as it aims to expand the focus gradually. However, the application is available for the world.
The app calls itself an app that is anti-dating. However, Feels is an app for dating through and through. The usual processes are there. Users can react to profiles, as well as have conversations that are supposed to lead to people dating eventually. However, the interface of the app is unique enough to set itself apart from its rivals as well as keep it interesting.
Profiles consist of answers for pre-written questions (Hinge-style), videos, and pictures. However, each element will take up the entire screen. As such, users browse through profiles by tapping the screen’s right or left sides. It is not difficult to find the similarity with Snapchat Stories. The elements are not new and have been used by Feels’ competition earlier as well. However, it comes neatly wrapped in a modern interface that looks promising.
However, the customization may feel lacking. For now, users can add locations and captions to the posted videos and photos. Feels, reportedly, is also planning to add stickers in an upcoming update.
The platform is also laying extra emphasis on its move away from the usual swiping gesture. However, at the end of the day, the action is similar, just animated differently. Moreover, tapping backward is only allowed with the premium subscription which currently costs $9.49 weekly. The app is also a very young one in a sector whose success is determined by the number of users using it.
