Earlier this year, Apple revealed that Kendrick Lamar would be the main act for the Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime show on February 6. During last night’s Grammy Awards, Kendrick celebrated by adding five more Grammys to his impressive total of 22! In light of his rising stardom, Apple has introduced several Kendrick Lamar-themed workouts for its Fitness+ users.
Fitness+ and Kendrick Lamar
As a long-time Fitness+ enthusiast, I embraced the service in early 2021 to rekindle my passion for fitness. I initially started with short 5-minute sessions, attempting one each day. Over time, I was able to dedicate more time and explore the wide variety of workouts that Fitness+ provides. I engaged in walking and running workouts, then transitioned to strength training, and eventually to yoga. The platform offers countless types of workouts and instructors to choose from.
Apple then began to curate workouts centered around individual artists. Instead of a mix of tracks from various musicians during a workout, the focus shifted to highlight one specific artist’s songs. My personal favorite remains the 30-minute running session with Scott featuring the Weeknd; it’s an absolute delight! This new offering for Fitness+ is similar, as Apple has added five unique workouts with different instructors, showcasing a range of Kendrick’s hit tracks:
- 20-minute Pilates with Darryl
- 20-minute Strength with Kim
- 30-minute Yoga with Jonelle
- 30-minute Cycling with Kym
- 30-minute Kickboxing with Jamie-ray
Although I wish there was a running session with Scott included in this lineup, I’m eager to try Kim’s strength workout!
