Gentler Streak, a leading fitness and wellness application for Apple devices, has received another update. The latest version introduces several new widgets displaying a variety of health metrics, allowing users to monitor their well-being directly from their Home Screen.
The new widgets leverage Gentler Streak’s Wellbeing section, providing insights into multiple body metrics using health data gathered from the Apple Watch. This includes metrics like average heart rate, wrist temperature, respiration rate, and oxygen saturation, helping users assess their health status and identify any areas needing attention.
Users can opt for a large widget that summarizes all body metrics available in the app or select individual widgets for each specific metric. These can easily be added to both iPhone and iPad Home Screens. To do this, users can enter the Home Screen editing mode by pressing and holding an existing widget or an empty space, then selecting the Edit and Add Widget option.
These widgets refresh automatically every morning with data collected during sleep. Additionally, the update features enhanced insights into the Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE), addressing the feedback that this concept “isn’t very intuitive,” as noted by Gentler Streak.
The Gentler Streak application aids users in better understanding their physical health and determining whether to ramp up their workout intensity or take it easier. The app was awarded Apple’s App of the Year for Apple Watch in 2022 and was a finalist for the 2023 Apple Design Award.

Last year, Gentler Streak secured an Apple Design Award in the Best Social Impact category.
The application is available for free on the App Store, though some premium features require a subscription or one-time purchase. Currently, Gentler Streak is offering a 40% discount on its annual subscription that includes family sharing. The app is optimized for use with an Apple Watch.
