This week marked the introduction of Apple’s first product for the year, the iPhone 16e. However, there are five additional launches anticipated in the upcoming weeks and months. Here’s a glimpse of what’s on the horizon.
M4 MacBook Air

The highly regarded MacBook Air has been eagerly awaiting its M4 upgrade, which is expected to arrive shortly. The new M4 MacBook Air will likely come in both 13-inch and 15-inch variants. Some standout features include:
- Base RAM of 16GB, with the option to upgrade to 32GB
- Capability to support two external displays while the lid is open
- 12MP Center Stage camera
- Enhanced battery life thanks to the efficiency improvements of M4
- Option for a nano-texture display
While design modifications are not anticipated for the M4 model, it should still serve as an appealing upgrade, particularly for users of the M1.
M3 iPad Air

The latest iPad Air has been on the market since last May, but an update is already on the way. According to Apple’s quarterly earnings, the previous iPad Air has been particularly successful, possibly due to the availability of both 11-inch and 13-inch options.
The forthcoming iPad Air is set to feature Apple’s M3 chip, marking a significant upgrade from the existing M2. Compatibility with a reimagined Magic Keyboard accessory is expected, along with several additional minor enhancements.
iPad 11th Generation

The base model iPad is long overdue for a refresh. It was the sole iPad not to see an update in 2024, and it wasn’t modified in 2023 either. The 10th generation model was unveiled in October 2022, making it high time for a new version.
The upcoming 11th generation iPad is set to feature an A17 Pro chip, similar to the latest iPad mini, enabling full Apple Intelligence functionality. It should be compatible with the new Magic Keyboard designed for the iPad Air as well. Additionally, there are reports suggesting the iPad may receive the updated C1 modem for enhanced 5G connectivity.
‘HomePad’

I’m particularly excited about the upcoming ‘HomePad’ device. As reported by Mark Gurman, this square-shaped smart display will blend the features of an iPad and HomePod. It is intended to function as a smart home hub and will provide various other features, including:
- Siri powered by Apple Intelligence
- The innovative homeOS software
- FaceTime support
- Access to Safari, Music, Notes, and other Apple apps
- Widgets akin to the iPhone’s StandBy mode
- And much more
While we await final details, I’m already planning to acquire several HomePads for my home, with a potential launch in April or May.
AirTag 2

In conclusion, the upcoming AirTag 2 is set to expand Apple’s lineup of new products.
The original AirTag made its debut almost four years ago, in April 2021. Its successor is highly anticipated, featuring three main enhancements:
- Enhanced range
- A more modern wireless chip
- Improved privacy features
Regarding privacy, Apple is expected to make the speaker more challenging to remove and implement additional features to prevent misuse.
