The users of Google Wifi will have to make some alternative arrangements in order to regulate the mesh routers on their app of Google Home just like that of Nest Wifi.
This is mainly due to the reason that Google will soon be terminating their support from the Google Wifi application from the month of July 2021 onwards.
This app has for a long time served as the perfect control center to the actual mesh router of Google Wifi. However, the users will now need to manage their household network as well as router settings through the Google Home application. This app has already been enabled with controls for their 2nd generation mesh router of Nest Wifi.
Google Wifi Migrates To Google Home App
The spokesperson of Google has lately informed that they want to provide a much easier for management and hassle-free across the devices and bring it together at one particular place. As a result, they have migrated their Wifi functionality to the app of Google Home.
He further states that Nest Wifi is always set up on the Home app and now they are merely bringing the same function to the existing users of Google Wifi.
The transition will begin from 25th May whereby the users will be allowed to add additional devices or enlarge their existing set up with the help of Google Home. In July, Google is going to terminate the Google Wifi support and remove it from the app market, encouraging users to migrate to Google Home instead.
The company said Google Home will be able to track the network speed on selected devices with their forthcoming 2.38 release.
