I am hearing that the staggered feature rollout from iOS 18 to iOS 18.4 is delaying the introduction of certain functionalities planned for iOS 19. This will result in a prolonged rollout of features in the next cycle as well. Engineers are currently occupied with iOS 18 projects instead of moving on to the subsequent OS.
Apple’s iOS 18 has been a significant project, marked by substantial updates during the initial September launch and subsequent rich feature sets in versions 18.1 and 18.2.
Apple Intelligence has played a pivotal role, showcasing the first set of AI features in 18.1, followed by further intriguing additions in the recent release of 18.2.
Looking ahead, iOS 18.3 is on the agenda, with significant updates anticipated in 18.4 set for April.

Personally, I find Apple’s rollout of iOS 18 to be quite exhilarating. The company launched a robust initial version with 18.0, and since then, we’ve witnessed major feature introductions every month or two.
In some prior years, there was often an overload of new functionalities during the significant fall release, causing me to overlook minor changes and updates. This staggered approach allows each feature to flourish and makes it appear as if the iPhone is continuously receiving exciting enhancements. I would welcome a similar rollout for iOS 19.
