Here’s a realistic concept of the potential design for the iPhone 17 Air.

There have been numerous speculations surrounding an “iPhone 17 Air” lately, indicating that Apple may be developing an ultra-slim iPhone set for announcement later this year. After a few low-quality images emerged showing the rear of this new iPhone, a lifelike concept image presents a clearer vision of its potential appearance.

Concept of the iPhone 17 Air

Imagined by WEIS Studio, the concept visualizes how the iPhone 17 Air would feel in a user’s hands. This design is influenced by recent leaks, suggesting that the device will measure a mere 5.5 millimeters in thickness. For comparison, the iPhone 16 Pro has a thickness of 8.25 mm, while the iPhone 6 – the slimmest model to date – was 6.9 mm thick.

Another notable feature depicted in the concept is the single-lens rear camera with a unique “bar” design, differing significantly from any existing iPhone models. This design aligns with the leaked images of the iPhone 17 Air’s rear.

This concept enhances the allure of the iPhone 17 Air. If the rumors are accurate, the new iPhone could rival the M4 iPad Pro in thinness, which is 5.3 mm in its 11-inch configuration. Analysts believe that Apple’s aim is to create a highly slender iPhone to boost sales, appealing to customers who may shy away from conventional models.

Speculations suggest that the iPhone 17 Air will succeed the “Plus” variant, positioned between the standard iPhone 17 and the iPhone 17 Pro. Although it boasts a bold new design, the iPhone 17 Air may face certain hardware limitations compared to the Pro models due to its reduced thickness. Apple might have to forgo additional rear camera lenses and a larger capacity battery.

The iPhone 17 Air is anticipated to feature a 6.6-inch OLED display with a higher refresh rate, likely 90Hz, as opposed to the 120Hz seen in the Pro models. Additionally, it will incorporate Apple’s in-house 5G modem, expected to be unveiled next week alongside the iPhone SE 4. Together with the A19 chip, this modem is expected to enhance battery efficiency.

The launch of the iPhone 17 lineup is forecasted for later this year. What are your opinions on the iPhone 17 Air? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
