The trendy Space Black color has become a fan favorite among Apple users, featured on devices like the MacBook Pro and iPad Pro. However, Apple decided against releasing a Space Black variant for the new Mac mini, opting only for silver. Thankfully, an Apple fan took matters into his own hands by painting his Mac mini black, and the transformation is impressive.
Apple enthusiast and collector L0vetodream shared several photos (and a video) documenting his hydro-dipping technique to convert a silver M4 Mac mini to a Space Black aesthetic. This involved completely disassembling the machine down to its aluminum frame and submerging it in water for the dipping process. After a few hours, the final finish emerged beautifully.
He also customized a Space Black Mac Studio, which looks equally stunning. Additionally, he offered to convert anyone’s Mac Studio to black for $100, which appears to be a fair deal.
