This year, Apple is set to unveil three new Home products as part of an enhanced smart home initiative. Here’s when we can look forward to one of those products, the HomePod mini 2, making its debut.
HomePod mini 2 set to launch in late 2025, according to reports
The original HomePod mini hit the market in late 2020, marking its presence over four years ago. It offered many features of the standard HomePod in a more compact and affordable design priced at $99.
Since its introduction, aside from regular software updates, the only significant change for the HomePod mini has been the introduction of new color variants.
However, noted analyst Mark Gurman indicates this year will finally see the arrival of the HomePod mini 2.
In his comprehensive overview of Apple’s release strategy for 2025, Mark Gurman revealed that the HomePod mini 2 is “scheduled for release towards the end of the year.”
A late 2025 release is also aligned with expectations for Apple’s new Apple TV 4K launch.
Therefore, we can anticipate a spring unveiling for the newly designed ‘HomePad’ product, followed by the HomePod mini 2 and Apple TV 4K towards the end of the year.
It’s likely that we’re looking at October or November for these launches.
September is typically a busy month, which will be especially true this year with the launch of the iPhone 17 Air, 17 Pro, Apple Watch Ultra 3, Series 11, and AirPods Pro 3.
Once those product launches conclude, Apple’s schedule will open up with only the M5 MacBook Pro and possibly the M5 iPad Pro expected to be revealed.
Add in a few upgraded Home products, making for a promising hypothetical October event.
