Honda just unveiled the 2023 Civic Type R.

The 11th-generation Civic hatchback serves as the foundation for the sixth-generation Honda Civic Type R. The new performance hatchback, according to Honda, is the most powerful R-branded vehicle ever produced.

The 2.0-liter turbocharged engine and 6-speed manual transmission are still featured in the 2023 Honda Civic Type R. However, a big modification to the engine has increased its power and responsiveness. The upgraded power unit’s precise specifications have not yet been made public by Honda.

Along with the 11th-generation Civic hatchback, the new Type R has a reworked bodywork in terms of design. Large rear wings, an updated lower grille, front bumper air vents, and an improved bonnet design all contribute to the vehicle’s improved ventilation. Additionally, the performance hatchback is mounted on thin 19-inch alloy wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.

The Type R shares an interior with the Civic e: HEV. A 10.2-inch smart play infotainment system, a digital dashboard, sports seating with red Type R detailing, and leather upholstery all around, among many other amenities and technology, are some of the Type R’s distinctive characteristics. Five colors—Rallye Red, Historic Championship White, Crystal Black Pearl, Boost Blue, and Sonic Grey Pearl—will be available for the 2023 Civic Type R. Honda said that the new Type R’s pricing and other specifics would be revealed nearer to its anticipated introduction date in the upcoming months.
