Introducing AirTag Max: Apple’s Next Strategic Advancement Following AirTag 2

The release of AirTag 2 is just around the corner, roughly four years after the original AirTag launched. While there are some appealing enhancements on the way, what I truly wish for is an expansion of the range: it’s high time for an AirTag Max.

AirTag battery issues can be frustrating, but an accessory can solve it

AirTags offer numerous practical applications. However, I have always felt indifferent towards the device mainly due to the battery concern.

Dealing with the need to replace AirTag batteries is a hassle I would rather avoid.

True, an iPhone alert reminds you when to replace it. However, the battery depletes quicker than I’d prefer, and I can’t always replace it at the moment I receive the notice.

Furthermore, having multiple AirTags creates the feeling of an endless cycle of changing batteries.

This is why I was thrilled to find the new TimeCapsule product that enhances an AirTag’s battery life, allowing it to last up to 10 years.

TimeCapsule presents a smart solution to my primary AirTag dilemma. Although it adds a noticeable amount of bulk to the AirTag, which may not be suitable for all situations, it serves well for many AirTag uses.

This realization prompted me to wonder: why hasn’t Apple introduced something like this?

Apple should consider creating an AirTag Max

Apple has the opportunity to broaden its AirTag offerings by not only releasing AirTag 2, but also by introducing an AirTag Max.

AirTag Max would effectively replicate what TimeCapsule provides: significantly extended battery life at the expense of a somewhat bulkier design.

A 10-year battery life for an AirTag without needing any accessories? Count me in.

When you toss AirTag Max into your bag or vehicle, its size becomes an inconsequential factor.

I imagine that Apple could design AirTag Max to still fit relatively well within chunkier keychains.

Expanding the AirTag series to include AirTag Max seems like a quintessential Apple strategy. Honestly, it’s surprising that the company hasn’t done this already.

Fingers crossed that if AirTag 2 is well-received, Apple will be quick to follow it with the new AirTag Max in the future.
